The Drones "Jezebel" Film Clip - ATP Recordings/Shock

High Res Stream (1mps) Quicktime MPEG4)

This clip was a logistical nightmare/masterpiece/pleasure... The Drones wanted me to match the song in a visual and narrative sense. The song is quintessentially The Drones..in all it's intensity and honesty. So, the clip tackles the light issues of the day(!) - war agenda, institutionalised violence, manipulation at the oppressive hands of religion (some parts, not all), the hypocrisy in cruelty to animals, and yet, all things beautiful in between. For every piece of human nature: there is the deplorable and the magnificent.
It is a 7.5 minute piece so I recommend you be patient if you have a slow internet connection. If you have a slower connection than for a 1mps stream (hence, clip keeps on stopping), either wait for it all to stream or just try the 'low res' one.
The Exploders - Mini Documentary - Rubber Records

Good old "Lake Bolac". Where? Where T.J (front man from The Exploders) resides in a love/hate relationship with this very very small home town. I had the job of hanging out in the town where these boys grew up and formed their bond and band. Shot on Super8 and video.

The Exploders "I Can't Dance" - Rubber Records/EMI

This clip kind of made itself (with a little help from myself). A very encompassing subject matter -'I can't Dance'...well lets see all those who can dance then - from the far throngs of the globe. This was fun. And I might ad, these boys from Lake Bolac are such a great live band...highly recommended.

The Ground Components "Living Room Floor" - Level Two Music

High
Res Stream (1mps Stream) (35 Mb Quicktime MPEG4)
Shot on super 8, this clip revolves around the lyrics: 'death on the living room floor'. It takes a bit of a pot shot at the McMansion drive through style of living. Some say it makes living affordable, I would say it is vapid and devoid of any sense of individuality. It was soul sucking just driving around these newly manufactured suburbs...but that's just me.

Hung out with the Casanova boys for a day in an eclectic studio -terribly named 'Guru Land'...beer, meat, and even a veggie burger or two (for the not-so-rockers). I made a special feature live recording DVD to accompany their album. This clip was part of the DVD recording session and I incorporated old 16mm film from the 1970's. Mostly Australiana gold! Clip was on Rage and Channel V...

This film was commissioned by BMW Mini for their international arts magazine "Mini International". Shot over a couple of intense days...this was a bit of fun. Showing the four corners of Melbourne - conveniently represented at the Flinders Street square. On one corner you have the train station (the journey...the people...the foods) and opposite that you have the church (faith in the journey...the mystery). And on the other corners there lies the Arts gallery and opposite that you have the Pub! And then there's 'Johnny' who wakes up with a mission in mind... to make his friends the perfect melbourne cuisine...with some quite 'auzzie' results.

This is an edited excerpt from a 50 minute show. A captivating one man musical show case. This man is one hell of a musician.

Robyn's a little different now since her days of daisy's and girl band prowess in the 1990's group: 'Girlfriend'. She is now a solo artist. This clip was shot on 16mm film with steadicam...with a crew of 2! (I had a clapper loader). We shot it down at the 12 Apostles in Victoria and I have no idea how we even got any footage...the weather was shocking.

What a great weekend...brilliant people (even without the 'lubricants'). Mostly hung out interviewing people in their camp sites and the odd (very odd) traveling bus. Three stages, great mix of artists and genres and an even greater mixing pot of people... This musically focused clip is an excerpt from a 14 minute DVD.

This is my family's olive grove (god bless 'em). This clip goes through the process of getting olive oil - from tree to bottle. Family duty with a healthy dash of pleasure. This clip was played in Harris Farm Markets (NSW) and Toscano's (VIC) and is one of the clips I've made on the Rosto Website (www.rostogrove.com.au). Shameless propaganda: Rosto's 2005 harvest has won an award in every olive oil show they entered....including a silver medal in the Australian Olive Association's olive oil show...apparently that's really good. Not bad for a 10 buck wine bottle size of the good oil... ok I'll stop now.
